4 Tube T5 Fluorescent Lighting Fixture Review

About a year ago, the company I work for began replacing the old HP sodium lights in our warehouse with the T5 fluorescents. I was immediately impressed with how bright these things are...you can't look at them head-on or you're temporarily blinded, and these fixtures are roughly 40ft. up on the ceiling.

I didn't even know these fixtures were available for home use until I saw them here on Amazon. I have a few cacti, banana, castor bean plants and several palm tree seedlings that I have to move indoors before the first frost and this fixture does a great job of giving them enough light to get them through the winter. You can buy cheaper, regular fluorescents, but you won't get the massive light output of the T5's. And a definite plus...power consumption is considerably less than that of a HP sodium or metal halide system.
